Uno's got that "It" factor say's Oprah Magazine

“He’s got that It factor” says a story in the October issue of Oprah Magazine. Martha Beck (“O’s resident life coach”) is writing about Uno, Westminster’s Best In Show Beagle from 2008, in a story about charisma.

“Whatever he’s doing – striding past paparazzi, greeting a cheering crowd, or licking a reporter – Uno the Beagle embodies pure charisma,” she writes. “…I’ve come to believe that there’s no better way to amp up your charisma than to follow his example.”

Uno's been up to a few other activities as well..

A new state-of-the-art USD 10 million Nestlé Purina Event Center was officially opened in the United States this week.
The 84,000-square-foot facility – based at Gray Summit in the Midwestern American state of Missouri – first began construction in April 2009.
Designed for dog shows, the center features a 45,000-square-foot Great Hall, a 13,500-square-foot benching and grooming area, banquet area, catering services and visitor parking, including 74 full service Recreational Vehicle (RV) hookups.
The red carpet event was attended by six champion dogs who each triumphed at the annual Westminster Kennel Club dog shows from 2001-2010. The prestigious canine event had crowned various Nestlé Purina Pro Plan-fed dogs as winners in each of their categories – including a 5-year-old Beagle, Uno (pictured), the 2008 Westminster Best in Show Winner.

Still Number One!

Its been quite a while since I updated Uno's blog that I felt it was time with the 2 year anniversary of his BIG win at Madison Square Garden. It seems Uno is still a crowd favorite no matter where he goes and his fans sure haven't forgotten about him!

Recently Uno was seen in NYC at the "AKC Meet the Breeds" spectacular along with his successor "Stump" the sussex spaniel. Also, On his recent visit to New York City, Uno, got to match Best In Show credentials with Hollywood's version of Westminster.

Michael McKean, who played Shih Tzu owner Stefan Vanderhoof in the hit movie, "Best in Show," met up with the famous Beagle at the Music Box theatre, where Michael is performing on stage in "Superior Donuts." In addition to his "Best In Show" role, Michael has a long list of credits, among them the role of Lenny in the long-running "LaVerne and Shirley."

Look who showed up on the front page of the St. Louis Post Dispatch today (September 24)? That's right, it's Uno, Westminster's 2008 Best In Show-winning Beagle. The illustration was part of a story about the St. Louis Cardinals needing just one more win to clinch first place in Major League Baseball's National League Central Division.

I'll be attending WKC this year and hope to have more to update about Our boy "Uno" in the weeks to come.
